lionbackup Wizard 0.1.1
Stablereleased this
2026-10-21 19:34:26 +02:00 | 2 commits to main since this releaseChanged
- Renamed to lionbackup-wizard throughout: the program
(lionbackup-wizard-windows-amd64.exe,lionbackup-wizard-linux-amd64), its
download folder (/wizard/) and its own folder in the lionbackup folder
(wizard\withwizard.jsonandwizard.log). The first start moves 0.1.0's
gui\folder there, settings and saved runs included. Close 0.1.0 first, its
icon in the notification area too: while it runs, starting 0.1.1 brings 0.1.0
to the front instead. - 0.1.0 does not find this update: download it once from
https://downloads.lionbackup.cloud/wizard/. Later updates arrive in the
wizard again.

lionbackup Wizard 0.1.0
Stablereleased this
2026-10-20 22:00:55 +02:00 | 3 commits to main since this releaseThe first release. Not included yet: automatic backups through
the Task Scheduler, storing the token in the Credential Manager, and signed
binaries. The Linux binary needs glibc 2.39 or newer (Debian 13, Ubuntu 24.04 or
later).Added
- Setup wizard in nine steps: find or download
lionbackup-client, resolve
project and storage zone from the access token (or enter them by hand and test
the zone), choose sources and compute their size, generate a key pair and save
the private key, choose folders, fine-tune, and save a config that
lionbackup-client --validatehas checked. - Backups with live progress, phases (encrypt, upload, finalize) and cancel;
the config is validated before every start. - Restore: list the backups with a read or download token (typed, or from a
restore config saved in the portal), restore one into its own subfolder, and
resume decrypting with another key without downloading again. - Configuration as a form and as editable YAML; saving keeps the file's
comments and layout, validates first and keeps a.bak. Several configs, with
a switcher in the sidebar. - Compression benchmark: ZSTD, GZIP and LZMA2 measured on the selected
sources, with a recommendation. - Protokoll with the runs of each config, and a support export with every
token redacted that names the exact Windows release and build. - Info & Updates: wizard and client versions, a check for a newer client
and wizard, the client's checked download, and the wizard's self-update (it
replaces itself and starts over), settings (language, theme, update check at
start, close to the notification area, what opens at start), and the licence
notices. - A choosable lionbackup folder, a notification-area icon, one instance per
session, German and English, light and dark themes. - Demo mode from the welcome step or Info & Updates: the whole interface on
sample data, with nothing backed up; "Demo verlassen" in its banner goes
back. - Bundled fonts (Adwaita Sans, Adwaita Mono): text looks and fits the same
on Windows 10, Windows 11 and Linux, and logs, paths and IDs are monospaced
everywhere.
Security
- The lionbackup folder is owner-only, and the wizard refuses to run a client
from it or save into it when another account could write to it. - The token travels over stdin, never in arguments or logs; the YAML view masks
it. - A downloaded client must match the published
SHA256SUMSand answer
--versionbefore it replaces the one in use.
